Encounters offers you lots of ways of finding people. Most of the names of the 'Find' pages are quite self-explanatory, but here's a quick summary in case the number of options is overwhelming.

• Find People By Name: This is the page to use if you already know the username of the person you're looking for. Finding them is as simple as entering their username.
• My Favourites: There are probably some profiles that you're going to want to visit more than once. Every profile has a link you can use to add that member to your favourites so that you can find them again easily or choose to let them know that you are interested in them. Because this page is personalised and lists only your favourites, it is available only to members.
• My Fans: Want to know who is interested in you? This page lists Encounters members who have saved your profile among their favourites.
• Search: The search page asks you questions about the people you're looking for and then finds people that meet those criteria. You can use the Quick Search to specify just a few criteria or, if you're a member, the Advanced Search lets you specify as many criteria as you like.
• My Matches: If you're a member and you've supplied information about your ideal match, we'll find all the other members who meet those criteria without the need for you to answer any more questions. This is a two-way matching function, so it makes sure you find people who'd be interested in you too. Based on what you've both said about yourselves and your ideal matches, the match function assigns a two-way matching score to each potential match. The best-scoring matches appear first, so this is by far the easiest way to find your ideal match.
• History: Interested to know who's looked at your profile recently? You can use the History facility to see who's viewed your profile and whose profiles you've viewed during the past week.
• Gallery: The gallery provides a visual way of finding people. It contains thumbnail images of the most recently uploaded member photos so that you can see at a glance who looks interesting.
• Keyword Search: Search for profiles containing a particular word or phrase.
• Popular Profiles: Have a look at people who are most popular with other members, as judged by the number of people that have added them to their favourites.
• Today's Birthdays: Find people whose birthday is today.
• New Profiles: View the profiles of our newest members.
• Recently Modified Profiles: View Encounters's most recently modified member profiles.
• Currently Logged In Members: Find other members who are currently logged in to Encounters.
